Why Is Russia Dangerous?

They don’t enjoy life, constantly feeling inferior to the West, because the West likes it that way. The recent Ukraine crisis has revealed in many ways how the West sees Russia. Yet, Russia can easily terminate the West within a few days if they so will. It’s really easy.

Firstly, Russia nukes the U.S.. The U.S. can decide to counter it or not. If they don’t, what can they do? Conventional warfare against Russia? A few aircraft carriers won’t do it. In any case, the U.S. will certainly nuke Russia as they have no choice anyway. Now, Russia is the side that takes the initiative, so they are prepared. Naturally, they storm Europe and perhaps the U.K. as well. Should the U.S. nuke Europe as well? Probably not. Now what?

It is a bit too easy. Why not? Decades of hatred are not enough? Well, of course, the only concern will be whether they can hold Europe and for how long so as to make it permanently Russian. The rest of the world will simply stay neutral. There is no reason to get into the mess. Climate change will not be dramatic enough to introduce a nuclear winter. The only problem really is about giving the West a few decades to figure out how to reverse the change following the incident.

Genocides are always regional. Plus, Russia still needs friends. The West never dies.

Maybe, the real problem is that Putin has not figured this out…

About Run Song

Run Song (宋闰) is my pen name for the Moments of Poetry, a collection of poems about the greatest moments of life. If photography captures the greatest moments of life, poetry is the life behind them.
